Guess who forgot a camera! ME! :/ Right now I am in the Denver airport with a six-hour layover ahead of me! :/ I planned to make an awesome post about traveling internationally and all that jazz but I simply have no resource! At first I was like “it’s cool I can use my iPhone”! Only to remember that once in the states I have to keep the phone on air plane mood and all that jazz or else I would be roaming so it would be impossible to get them.  :/ Fail, Fail, Fail!  Well, I think I am going to go read a billion other blogs than go find a Starbucks!! Once home I will find me a camera and a gym and post you something snazzy ASAP! :)

Last Night!

Check out my dinner last night!

Impressive, right?! So colorful! I was just proud of myself so I had to show you all! (Don’t worry this isn’t all I ate! I just didn’t photograph all the junk! Can you say chip addiction?)

Included is a lovely orange bell pepper, sweet tomatoes, avocado, turkey, cheese, and some sour cream! AMAZING!

After dinner my husband and I played our new Wii game called Mario cart! You are never too old for a video game night my friends! I believe they are good for the soul! We may have gotten a little too competitive about it though and ended up staying up way too late! Anyways, you have to hold up an actual wheel to control the car so it was actually a really good arm workout because you have to hold and twist the controller around! Fun, and a workout, double score!

Today!

Is my last day in Okinawa before I leave for the states for 2 whole weeks! I am really excited for the trip in every way except for the fact that my husband will not be joining me. :/ We knew we had to live up the day so I started it of right with some good old oats!!!

Yum! Oats, milk, water, banana, chia seeds, honey, and peanut butter! To die for!

After, we battled a few more games of Mario Cart and took the puppy for a walk! Then it was beach time!!! A few hours of lying out in the sun and we were starving! We decided to try a restaurant we had passed many times on the way to the shore called the “Beach Shake”! Thank goodness because it was amazing!

Even though it was run by locals they did a great job at making it very appealing to Americans with their decor and traditional American burgers and food! 

Even the waitress spoke rather good English (which can be rare, even at an Americanized Okinawan restaurant). We began ordering up and were delighted to see how amazingly fresh everything was (typically in Okinawa everything is REALLY fresh but for some reason being a good old American this is always a bit more shocking than it should be!) We started with corn chips and guacamole. (You had to grind up the quac on your own, that’s why it looks so funny!)Then a pineapple smoothie! (Taste better than it looks ;)

Then my avocado burger!

The best part about Japan and dining is you really don’t have a need to stress about calories, everything is naturally smaller in size and prepared exceptionally well! (You may not be able to tell in the pic but the portions are rather small!)

Well after the beach and my overload of avocado I think a nap is in order! Going to go out tonight for dinner then Yogurt land! So Excited! See you all later!

OOIAJ!!

Finally, I have tried the forever famous OOIAJ! (Overnight oats in a jar)! It is ALL the rage in the blog world, and I can see why!

If you don’t already know, this is how it is done!

Wait for an almost empty peanut butter jar (almond, sunflower, whatever floats your boat).

Gather ingredients such as oats, and whatever you generally add to them. For me I added oats, milk, water, chia seeds, and honey!

Make the oatmeal as you normally would. Pour it into the nearly empty jar and let sit in the fridge overnight! 

Wake up and enjoy the goodness! It is amazing my friends!!

That is all I got time for for now :/ Tomorrow is my last full day in Okinawa before I head to the states for 2 whole weeks! My husband can not join me so I will be once again traveling international alone, which is the worst! :/

Anyways, we are going to be doing some fun stuff tomorrow so stay tuned! :)

for an Iphone! Not only a second after I posted my little typhoon post cable, internet, and power decided to peace out! Hooray for not preparing and only having one candle!!! ;) well off to go sit at the window with my loves and watch this thing go! It is VERY angry about something, I wish you all could see ;) Don’t worry we are completely safe, can’t say the same about our car though! We will have to see in the morning I guess! :)

What to do during your first typhoon!

  1. Sit on the coach all day with your favorite husband and puppy! (two pics of my puppy because the hubby was rather un photogenic today)

  3. Eat voluptuousness amounts of Ice cream and brownies! (Was consumed to fast for a picture)
  4. And simply enjoy the fact that you have a really good reason to be lazy! ;)

Admitting I have a problem…

I Cara Olveda am addicted to COFFEE! No, really.

The night before last I forgot to brew up my morning Joe, and oh did I pay for it yesterday. By 11:00 I still had no coffee in me and my body freaked out! I tried to right you all a lovely little post but my head was splitting into pieces!!! At lunch I practically chugged some black and it didn’t help one bit, then I tried all the drugs that you can possible combine and nothing!  After work I went straight home and then straight to bed!

I need help! I love coffee and it is part of my everyday morning, but I don’t want to be physically dependent on it! I read online it is normal to get headaches but mine felt almost like a migraine (I’m not sure though because I have never had one ;). Any suggestions on how to fix this little problem?

Try and fail… :/

The other week at the grocery store I found these little beauties!

I am a sucker for anything peanut butter and chocolate! Especially the ice cream!!! I thought an oatmeal chocolate cookie with these mixed in would just be amazing! Right? Nope :/ I tried to be all healthy and do a sugarless cookie which is next to impossible and it just ended in a flavorless mess! This was really sad because they looked delicious and I had taken all the pictures and calculated all the calories for you all. : /

Don’t worry my husband and I spent a good 10 minutes picking out and eating all the valuable chocolate chips! ;)

Workout!

This is from yesterday because today I failed to get up… :)

I had way too much time at the gym to kill because my husband had a uniform inspection at the crack of dawn so he had to take me extra early! I hit up the elliptical for 25 minutes than headed to a killer spin class! After I was a bit worn out so I figured I would just make up a circuit workout with stuff I felt like doing!

I tried to mix it up by doing cardio, abs, arms, and legs! This worked really well so I figured I would share it with you!

30 second each! (you will need a jump rope, a heavier set of dumbbells, one lighter dumbbell, and a medicine ball)

  • Jump rope (if you don’t got one do mountain climbers or jumping jacks!)
  • Plank
  • Plie squat with calf raise (use one of the heavy weights)
  • Seated triceps press
  • Jump rope
  • Side plank hip raises (about 10 on each side)
  • Lung with torso twist (1 light dumbbell)
  • Hammer curls
  • Jump rope
  • Wood chuck
  • Straight leg dead lift
  • Arnold dumbbell press
  • Jump rope

I repeated this two times than got bored and called it a day! :)

Breakfast

I am particularly hungry this morning and am off to devourer my breakfast right here at work! These two little beauties are just staring me down right now. Eat me, eat me! No problemo!!!
